University of Kansas

Glenn Adams is Professor of Psychology at the University of Kansas, where he currently serves as Interim Director of the Kansas African Studies Center. He worked for three years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Sierra Leone before completing his Ph.D. in Social Psychology at Stanford University. His graduate training included two years of field research in Ghana, which provided the empirical foundation for his research on cultural-psychological foundations of relationality. His ongoing work builds on this foundation as the basis for broader consideration of the coloniality of knowledge and being in hegemonic psychology.
